The COVID-19 pandemic exposed and accelerated many gendered labour market inequalities. It has changed the way we look at the world of work but what are the changes needed to protect women in the workplace in the post-pandemic era.

This Session will address:

• The impact of the pandemic on women’s employment, labour force participation, earnings, unpaid care work and experience of gendered violence.
• Actions employers can take to advance gender equity in the post-pandemic era.
• The ideal future workplace now that remote work is here to stay.
• Deconstructing structural inequalities and societal norms that have acted as a barrier to the involvement and progression of women in the workplace (from care responsibilities to inherent biases).
