Dr. Maryam Abdool-Richards holds the office of Principal Medical Officer-Institutions (PMO-I) Ag. with the Ministry of Health (MOH). She is also Director to the Boards of Angostura Holdings Limited (AHL) National Insurance Property and Development Company (NIPDEC), the Eastern Regional Health Authority (ERHA), TATIL and TATIL Life in addition to several other directorships and committee positions with Government and various Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

Dr. Richards is a graduate of the University of the West Indies (UWI) with a M.B., B.S degree (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) and a postgraduate Master of Science degree (MSc) in Family Medicine. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Public Health in Developing Countries from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK) and an Executive MBA (with Distinction) from the ALJGSB, UWI St. Augustine. She is also fluent in Spanish.

She is highly experienced and certified in Project Management, Procurement and in International Relations and successfully negotiated and implemented several complex, high-value projects across the Ministries of Health, Energy and National Security.

She is also a member of the Board of the Alumni Association of the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business; a Director to the Board of the Heroes Foundation and an Executive Board Member of the Shelter.

Dr Richards is passionate about using her practical knowledge and certified expertise to help organizations create and execute efficient and robust strategies that satisfy the organizations objectives while fostering a diverse and inclusive environment for all its stakeholders.
