Please note, participants must click the "IDB Cheer Fair 2021" in the "who are you" field when signing up. This is the only way we can identify the participants as part of the IDB Cheer Fair. Entries that don't select this category will not be included when we pull the results and therefore will not be counted.

Vax Dem Tik Tok Challenge

 

How would you convince your parents to get vaccinated?  Take the #VaxDem challenge and show us!

 

This challenge is for IDB Cheer Fair Camp participants ONLY.

 Here are the rules. You must:

1.        Create a TikTok video that encourages adults around you to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

2.        Follow the actions in the model video.  But, be creative and also add your personal swag to the video.

3.        Use a plaster or tape on your arm.

4.        Download and use this music sample, as the soundtrack for the challenge.

5.        Use the hashtags #vaxdem #leftoright #IDBCheerfair2021

6.        Get at least 100 likes for your video to be shortlisted for the finals.

7.        URL to your TikTok page along with your full name and age MUST be emailed to IDB (IDBTrinidad@iadb.org) on or before the challenge deadline to be considered.

 You’ll be judged within your age groups: 7-10 years, 11-13 years, and 14-16 years.

Upcycling Art Competition

 

 

Use recycled materials to create an instrument or traditional carnival costume. 30-min check-ins each day will feature different aspects of mas making (fun learning). Participants will be invited to submit creations as part of a competition. Creations will be displayed in a public space and/or featured in a video.

Target Group: 7-10 years; 11 – 13 years; 14 – 16 years & Parents

Deadline for Submissions: Thurs 26 Aug, 2021 at 4:00 pm

Duration: 5 days (week 1 of camp)

Blue Economy Innovation Competition

 

 

Devise an innovative/creative solution to clean up, monitor or trace plastic waste in the ocean.

The core requirements of the solution are to:

  1. incorporate a digital item in the solution (e.g., use of a digital camera, etc.);
  2. demonstrate the solution in a body of water e.g., river, pond, by the sea, pool, in a bucket, etc.;
  3.  work in groups (4 people per group virtually).

Group Activity: Groups TBD

Target Group: 11 – 13 years; 14 – 16 years 

Deadline for Submissions: Fri 13 Aug, 2021 at 9:00 am

Duration: 5 days (week 1 of camp)

Come meet Peter Parrot Fish in this wonderful story and colouring book! Peter Parrot Fish lives in the Buccoo Reef on the little Caribbean island of Tobago with his friends. This book describes the importance of coral reefs, how humans use coral reefs, and the threats facing coral reefs. Peter Parrot Fish expresses his wish that one day humans will help him and his friends to save the reef.
