Hanif Earis Antony Benjamin is a Licensed Master of Social Work, licensed by the New York State Office of the Professions, and a member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and the National Centre for Crisis Management. Mr. Benjamin is a Clinical Traumatologist and Clinical Therapist holds a Certification in Clinical Traumatology from the Traumatology Institute of Canada and a Certification in Child Trauma (C.C.T). Mr. Benjamin a Doctoral Student (Ph.D. Social Work) at The University of the West Indies is also listed in the International Deployment Directory of the National Center for Crisis Management as a first responder for traumatic events and an International Premier Speakers and Trainers Bureau of the National Center for Crisis Management and the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.

He is the Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of The Centre for Human Development Limited (TCHD), with its subsidiaries:

– TCHD – Postgraduate Training Institute and

– TCHD – Centre for Change, a Non-Governmental Organization

Benjamin served as the Chairman of the Board of Management of the State Agency, the Children’s Authority of Trinidad and Tobago. The Authority is a specialized agency with the responsibility for the care and protection of children, especially those who are at risk or have been victims of abuse or neglect. The Authority advocates for the rights of children and encourages and supports them to enjoy their childhood. The organisation’s overarching objective is to utilize child-friendly and progressive solutions to address children’s issues and rehabilitate them so that their full potential is realized. Mr Benjamin also served as a member of the Management Committee to oversee the operation of the Youth Development Apprenticeships Centers (YDAC) of Trinidad and Tobago with the main responsibility to oversee the operations of the YDACs and to effectively direct and co-ordinate a modernized approach for the YDAC’s.

Benjamin gained his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (summa cum laude) at Monroe College. He furthered his studies at Fordham University where he gained his Clinical Master of Social Work with distinction in New York City receiving (summa cum laude). At Fordham, he developed specialized skills in trauma treatment for children and adolescents and working with Children and Families. When he completed his program at Fordham, he continued his development in trauma work with the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN).
