Description
The presentation will be focused on a Trinidadian Marine Biologist, Dr. Judith Gobin. Her accomplishments will be highlighted and special focus will be placed on the discovery of a novel species of octopus found off of the shores of Trinidad and Tobago. This discovery will be emphasized by a craft activity where students will create a purple octopus out of a toilet paper roll. Tied in with this, oceanic pollution will be mentioned as preservation of these natural habitats is an important issue for younger generations to know about.
List of items required for craft activity:
- A Toilet paper roll
- Purple paper (can be painted or colored purple)
- A black marker
- Glue
- Scissors
