Stanley Rich Wharton is CEO and President of CERDiT (Centre for Energy Resources
and Digitalization Technologies Limited), and Subsurface Imaging Company Limited,
respectively, energy resources companies involved in subsurface investigation,
geohazard assessment, and leveraging digitalization technologies in the energy
industry and geotechnical fields. He has over 36 years’ international experience in oil
and gas exploration - approximately 12 years in the Exploration group at energy
giant Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabia, as Consultant of a Planning, Administration and
Strategy team. He served 12 years with energy majors, AMOCO, bp America and bp
Trinidad and Tobago, and with the Ministry of Energy, TRINTOPEC and Petrotrin. For
over 20 years he has been a key contributor in the application of Artificial
Intelligence - Machine Learning techniques in subsurface resources assessment and
as application expert for technology initiatives in exploration. He conducted
geohazard assessments in the Caribbean since 1985 - Trinidad, Tobago, and the
islands of Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia, as part of USAID’s COTS program for multi-
hazard projects. He is a Director of PlanPrepare Env Agency, an NGO focused on
landslide studies. He holds an MSc in Geology – Engineering Geology, Windsor,
Canada, and a Certificate, the Management Program, from RICE University, Houston,
Texas, USA.
