Bio
Rachel is a Senior Associate in Dentons Delany’s Trinidad & Tobago office and is a member of the regional Corporate and Commercial practice group. She focuses on mergers & acquisitions, commercial contract drafting and negotiation, project development, transactional finance, and regulatory advice across a variety of industry sectors.
In addition to corporate and commercial matters, Rachel has a particular focus on environmental compliance and advisory matters and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Policy from Middlebury College, Vermont, as well as a Masters of Philosophy in Environmental Policy from the University of Cambridge. Prior to joining Dentons, Rachel trained and practiced with an international law firm in London where she led the ESG and Environmental sub-sector within the Finance Department.
Rachel is co-lead of Dentons’ Caribbean wide ESG Steering Committee. She holds a deep passion for assisting clients on their ESG journeys both internal and client facing.
Rachel spent several years assisting clients across Europe in the areas of sustainable financing, developing internal ESG strategies, complying with the ESG regulatory landscape in Europe and embedding ESG goals into commercial and procurement contracts. Now that she has returned to her home country of Trinidad, she is eager to assist in the national and regional discourse around ESG and assist businesses and regulatory bodies with accelerating progress in this space.
Rachel is a passionate public speaker and has completed speaking engagements on ESG for the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office of Trinidad and Tobago, the University of the West Indies, Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute amongst others.
